Biography
My name is Marcus Cardoza. I'm a freshman at the University of Texas in pursuit of switching majors from journalism to Public Relations; I graduated Suma Cum Laude from Johnson High School in my hometown San Antonio,Texas. I like to spend time with my friends and family, I like to workout, I like to play sports, and I like to succeed. In high school I started two years on varsity football and varsity baseball, I was in the National Honor Society, and was a youth leader at St. Mark's Catholic Church. In high school I earned awards such as All District Academic Athlete, All State Academic Team, and Golden Glove award in baseball. I received scholarships from the Knights of Columbus of St. Mark's Catholic Church and AT&T's Hispanic Scholarship upon graduation from high school. I worked at the YMCA in San Antonio on the Sports Staff as a referee, umpire and site director for tournaments and practice sites. Since my enrollment at the University of Texas I joined a spirit organization called Absolute Texxas where I serve my community through various programs and fundraising events. These events include tutoring kids at Dezevala Elementary School , making dinner for kids with cancer at the Ronald McDonald house, and cleaning up trash at Peace Park. I play Rugby for the University of Texas and I started as a freshman at wing, I also am on the 7's team which will be playing in the Collegiate Rugby Championship in Philadelphia this summer.Upon graduating from the University of Texas I plan on working for an NFL team as head of PR, but my main goal in life is to own a gym and help young athletes to improve their skills and succeed in their sports.
